New Kikuyu varieties identified
Three new Kikuyu lines have been identified by Project P1c for further screening. This will involve larger plot trials at more locations in 2024.

Symposium from the grass roots

This is a ‘dairy-farmer-only’ panel session featuring Jorge Massa, General Manager Hilltop, Western Victoria, Phil Tate, Albion Park, NSW, Ruth Kydd, Finley, NSW and Peter Morgan, Waikato, New Zealand.
EPA ‘sustainable partnership’
Dairy UP has received a 2023 ‘sustainable partnership’ with EPA NSW. This provides a grant which will allow Dairy UP to expand our work to include assessing carbon emission/balance on some of Dairy UP’s partner farm network.
P2f Infectious diseases update
Dairy UP’s Infectious Diseases project has made significant progress recently. As at July 2023, more than 1800 swabs have been collected from about 550 cows and calves on 26 farms.
P4 Maize project in the press
The P4 Maize project team have recently had a journal article published with their latest findings.
Road trip report
In June, Dairy UP held its first road trip in collaboration with Dairy NSW, visiting a farm near Bodalla on day 1 and Cobargo on day 2. Participants included farmers, service providers and members of the Dairy UP and Dairy NSW teams.
Corstophine farm trials
A number of Dairy UP projects are now utilising the University of Sydney’s Corstophine farm, offering the opportunity to add controlled trials to our on-farm monitoring network.
