Carbon neutral Kikuyu pasture systems

Yani Garcia

The Australian dairy industry is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). This PhD project will develop whole-farm GHGs mitigation strategies as pathways for carbon neutrality in kikuyu-based dairy production systems by using ‘a modelling approach‘ coupled with automated technologies to monitor individual animals, soils and the environment.

The PhD Candidate will have the opportunity to work with precision technology, including animal breath analysers, soil chambers and environmental probes helping shape management practices that reduce carbon emissions in the dairy industry.
