PhD Scholarship in Dairy Science

Dairy UP PhD

Dairy UP has a scholarship for a PhD student to join the Dairy Science Feedbase for intensive systems project.

This scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking research on the development of new strategies and Feedbase options for intensified Australian dairy systems.

This project will explore the opportunities to apply digital agriculture approaches and tools to optimise quantity and quality (linked to cows’ diet and performance) of maize for silage, with focus on real-time crop monitoring with time to intervene. The PhD project sits under Project P4 of Dairy UP and will involve handling and analysis of large datasets in collaboration with Dairy UP projects P1, P2 and P6″.

This scholarship is funded by Dairy UP, administered by the University of Sydney’s Dairy Research Foundation and supported by the NSW Government and the Commonwealth Government through the Bushfire Industry Recover Package – Sector Development Grants program (BIR-SDG).
